Experienced Project Manager (Construction)

Responsibilities:

• Project Planning & Management: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, and budgets, and ensure all projects are executed according to these plans.
• Team Coordination: Lead, manage, and coordinate on-site construction teams, ensuring tasks are delegated effectively, and team members are aligned with project goals.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Budget & Cost Control: Monitor project costs and work with the finance department to ensure projects are delivered within budget. Approve expenditures and manage project cash flows.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all construction activities comply with building codes, regulations, and company standards. Regularly inspect work for quality assurance.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
• Contract Management: Oversee contractor and subcontractor agreements, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and managing any disputes that may arise.
• Health & Safety: Ensure all projects adhere to safety regulations and protocols, promoting a safe working environment for all site workers.
• Project Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports for senior management, highlighting key metrics such as progress vs. plan, budget adherence, and risk status.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing large-scale construction projects.
• Professional certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, project management tools, and industry best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficient in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
• Familiarity with Abuja's regulatory environment and local construction industry standards.
