Summary

The Facilitator will be responsible for planning, leading, and managing a variety of training sessions, strategy meetings, retreats, and workshops. The role also includes the strategic targeting of potential clients, proposal writing, and conducting meetings to secure facilitation engagements. The individual should have a proven track record in both facilitation and business development, with strong communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills. The ideal candidate will be experienced in facilitating sessions in both virtual and in-person settings, adhering to global best practices in training and facilitation.


Key Responsibilities:

Facilitation and Event Management:

  • Facilitate training programs, strategy sessions, workshops, and retreats, ensuring clear objectives and productive outcomes.
  • Lead group discussions, engage participants and ensure inclusive participation from all attendees.
  • Apply a variety of facilitation methods (e.g., breakout groups, brainstorming, guided questioning, role-playing) to suit different types of events.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure sessions run smoothly and stay on track.

Proposal Writing & Strategic Targeting:

  • Develop compelling proposals to secure new facilitation and training engagements, ensuring alignment with client needs and expectations.
  • Conduct research to identify strategic client opportunities, targeting industries, organizations, or sectors where facilitation services may add value.
  • Craft customized service offerings based on client-specific goals and industry trends.
  • Ensure proposals reflect the organization’s value proposition and demonstrate global best practices.

Client Engagement & Business Development:

  • Hold pre-meeting discussions with potential clients to understand their needs and align service offerings with their strategic goals.
  • Represent the organization in meetings with decision-makers to secure facilitation or training deals.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring continuous engagement and follow-up.

Content Development & Customization:

  • Collaborate with clients and team members to tailor session content to specific organizational needs or event goals.
  • Develop and deliver engaging presentations, training materials, and other supporting documents.
  • Ensure that content is aligned with global best practices and trends in leadership, strategy, innovation, or the subject matter relevant to the event.


Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Communication, Organizational Development, etc.). A Master’s degree or certification in training, facilitation, or leadership development is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of proven experience in facilitating training programs, workshops, strategy sessions, or retreats.
  • Prior experience in proposal writing and strategic targeting of clients to secure facilitation engagements.
  • Experience with both virtual and in-person facilitation, including the use of online platforms like Zoom, Teams, Miro, or similar.
  • Proven track record of client engagement, business development, and deal closure for facilitation or training services.
  • Experience working with mid-to-large corporate organizations, government agencies, or NGOs.
  • Experience in facilitating diverse teams and managing group dynamics.

Key Competencies and Skills:

  • Facilitation Skills: Expertise in various facilitation techniques and the ability to keep participants engaged and productive.
  • Proposal Writing: Strong ability to craft clear, persuasive, and tailored proposals aimed at securing client engagements.
