Family Medicine Consultant

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and deliver holistic and evidence-based care to patients, treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and conditions for patients of all ages
• Promote health through vaccinations, screenings, lifestyle counseling, and wellness programs that address physical, mental, and preventive health needs.
• Perform Clinical assessments, diagnose medical conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans-perform minor outpatient procedures and manage referrals for specialized care when necessary   
• Provide first-line treatment and urgent or stabilization for patients in critical conditions within the facility’s capacity
• Collaborate with specialists, therapists, allied healthcare professionals, and community resources to provide and ensure seamless integrated patient care.
• Engage in medical research, mentor junior doctors, and provide training sessions for healthcare teams. 

Requirements:

• Medical Degree (MBBS, MD) with Specialization in Family Medicine
• MDCN Certified
• Board Certified in Family Medicine
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Family Medicine (or general practice after being certified)
• Experience working in a private institution is an added advantage
• Familiarity with ethical and legal issues in patient care
• Proficiency in Managing acute and chronic medical solutions
• Knowledge of Local health policies and regulations in Nigeria
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical software.
• Ability to work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary healthcare team
• Strong understanding of Pharmacology and Medication Management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
