Farm Supervisor

Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

• Manage and oversee farm workers, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Provide training and support to farm staff to ensure high levels of productivity and adherence to safety protocols.
• Lead by example, demonstrating effective farming techniques and a strong work ethic.

Livestock Management:

• Oversee the care and feeding of livestock, ensuring their health and well-being.
• Monitor breeding programs, health checks, and vaccinations.
• Ensure that livestock facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Equipment and Facility Maintenance:

• Ensure all farm equipment is in good working condition, scheduling regular maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Oversee the maintenance of farm buildings, fences, and other infrastructure.

Record Keeping and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including crop yields, livestock health, equipment maintenance, and labor costs.
• Prepare and submit reports on farm performance, production targets, and any issues that arise.

Health and Safety Compliance:

• Implement and enforce health and safety policies to protect staff, livestock, and crops.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural regulations and standards.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Farm Supervisor or similar role in agriculture.
• Strong knowledge of farming techniques, crop management, and/or livestock care.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor.
• Basic knowledge of farm equipment maintenance.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• A degree or certification in agriculture or a related field is preferred.
