Field Technician

We are looking for an enthusiastic self-driven person. Technicians typically have a variety of duties and responsibilities to ensure the effective operation and maintenance of remote monitoring systems.
*A big part of the job is in the South east and North western parts of Nigeria
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure remote monitoring systems at client sites.
- Ensure proper integration of hardware and software components.
- Conduct initial testing to verify system functionality.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on monitoring equipment.
- Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues.
- Provide technical support to clients, addressing any system malfunctions or performance issues.
- Monitor and analyze data collected by remote systems.
- Ensure accurate data logging and reporting.
- Implement data backup procedures to prevent loss.
- Provide training to clients on how to use and interpret data from the monitoring systems.
- Respond to customer inquiries and technical support requests in a timely manner.
- Conduct site visits for hands-on support and troubleshooting.
- Implement firmware and software updates to enhance system functionality.
- Upgrade hardware components as necessary to maintain system performance.
- Ensure all installations and maintenance activities comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of system installations, maintenance activities, and service reports.
- Document all troubleshooting and repair activities for future reference.
- Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless operations.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss ongoing projects and resolve any issues.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in remote monitoring technology.
- Propose and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
- Participate in training programs to continuously develop technical skills.
- Be available for on-call support during emergencies or critical system failures.
- Quickly respond to and resolve urgent issues to minimize downtime.
- Adhere to safety protocols during installation and maintenance activities.
- Implement security measures to protect the integrity of monitoring systems and data
Qualifications:
- B.ENG/BSC/HND In engineering or sciences (Electrical, Mechanical, Physics or Computer)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical operations as an engineer or technician preferably in the telecom sector.
- Telecom Experience/Networking Experience/solar power experience- must!
- Relevant certifications in engineering are an added advantage.
- Knowledge of the use of computer and working with software is mandatory.
- Ownership of operational vehicle is mandatory.
