Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of tax returns and filings.
- Develop talent within the department to create a high-performing finance team.
- Create and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting and internal control standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial statements and regulatory filings.
- Provide recommendations based on financial performance to optimize spending and increase profitability.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support business objectives and long-term growth.
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all transactions.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Manage the organization's budgeting process, including budget creation, monitoring, and variance analysis.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with tax laws, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
- Monitor and manage the organization’s cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operations and making informed decisions regarding capital expenditures and investments.
- Identify and manage financial risks by developing policies and procedures to mitigate potential risks, ensuring the financial security of the organization.
- Lead and manage the finance and accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the team meets organizational objectives.
- Ensure proper tax planning and compliance with all local, state, and federal tax laws.
- Analyze costs and expenses to assist in budgetary controls and identify areas for cost savings, optimizing resource allocation for improved efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments and communicate effectively with senior management, investors, and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
Requirements:
- A professional certification (e.g., CFA, ICAN, ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable.
- Proficient in financial software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present financial information to non-financial audiences.
- In-depth understanding of local and international financial regulations, compliance requirements, and tax laws.
- Ability to identify financial risks and implement solutions to mitigate them, maintaining the organization's financial health.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all financial processes, reports, and analyses.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with other departments and influence stakeholders.
- MSc/MBA in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of experience in financial management and accounting, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax laws.
- Exceptional analytical abilities with experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis to drive decision-making and strategy formulation.
- You have demonstrated the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a finance team.
