Job Summary
A non-governmental organization with offices in Lagos and Abuja is seeking a detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join its finance department.The Finance Assistant will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations,contribute to the organization’s financial integrity,and support project management tasks

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Financial Administration:
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Process invoices, verify accuracy, and manage payment cycles.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and address discrepancies.
- Monitor outstanding payments.
Record Keeping and Documentation:
- Maintain meticulous records of financial transactions.
- Organize and file financial documents (invoices, receipts, expense reports).
- Update internal accounting databases.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Regularly reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Collaborate with the finance manager to prepare financial reports.
- Assist in variance analysis and budget tracking.
Payroll Support:
- Enter payroll data accurately.
- Assist with payroll calculations and documentation.
Communication and Stakeholder Interaction:
- Respond to inquiries from vendors, donors, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain professional communication and confidentiality.
Month-End and Year-End Processes:
- Participate in financial statement preparation.
- Assist in closing processes.
Project Management Support:
- Work closely with program managers and project coordinators.
- Assist in project budget tracking and financial reporting.
General Administrative Skills:
- Organize meetings, manage calendars, and handle correspondence.
- Support project implementation tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Education: Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred, professional qualification is added advantage).
- Experience: Proven experience in accounting or finance, preferably within an NGO context.
