We are looking to hire a Financial Controller who will be responsible for overseeing the financial health and sustainability of the organization. They will manage accounting operations, financial planning, donor reporting, budgeting, compliance, and risk management while ensuring transparency and alignment with the organization's mission and regulatory standards.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement financial strategies to ensure the organization's sustainability.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to leadership and the board.
- Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and risk analysis.
Budgeting & Financial Management
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working with department heads to allocate resources effectively.
- Monitor budget performance, ensuring adherence and addressing variances proactively.
- Ensure efficient utilization of funds, optimizing costs without compromising impact.
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Supervise accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with non-profit financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
- Liaise with auditors, managing annual audits and addressing findings.
- Assess financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Cash Flow & Investment Management
- Monitor cash flow to maintain financial stability and liquidity.
- Manage banking relationships and oversee investments as per policies.
- Ensure optimal fund allocation for organizational sustainability.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Supervise and develop finance team members, fostering professional growth.
- Train non-finance staff on financial policies, budgeting, and compliance.
- Promote a culture of financial accountability and integrity.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
- A master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is highly desirable.
- Evidence of attending financial management courses or seminars.
- Minimum of fifteen (10) years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Excellent knowledge of local and international financial reporting requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for not-for-profit organizations.
- Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- ACA qualified and Experience in not for profit

Financial Planning & Strategy
- Accurate financial forecasts and reports are presented to the board on time.

Budget Management
- Budget variances are maintained within an acceptable threshold.

Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Timely and accurate financial statements are produced monthly/quarterly.
- Clean audit reports with minimal findings.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Full compliance with regulatory and donor financial requirements.
- Effective risk mitigation measures in place
Cash Flow & Investment
- Positive cash flow is maintained with sufficient reserves.
- Sound investment decisions aligned with financial policies.
Team Leadership
- Improved finance team performance and capacity.
- Staff trained on financial policies and compliance.
