Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Food Technician with 3-5 years of experience to join our team in either Ibadan or Akure. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the production, quality control, and development of food products. You will work closely with food scientists, quality assurance teams, and production staff to ensure products meet safety standards, regulatory guidelines, and customer specifications.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formulation and testing of new food products, including ingredient selection, recipe optimization, and sensory evaluation.
  • Monitor and test food products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with established quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct routine laboratory tests (e.g., pH, moisture content, microbiological analysis) and record results accurately.
  • Ensure that food products meet regulatory requirements (NAFDAC, SON, etc.), including labeling and safety standards.
  • Provide input on production processes to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any issues in the production process, quality control, or product development.
  • Maintain detailed records of tests, experiments, and production data for auditing and reporting purposes.
  • Assist in training production staff on best practices in food safety, quality control, and equipment handling.


Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a food production or laboratory setting, with a strong understanding of food safety standards and quality assurance processes.
  • Proficient in food analysis techniques, laboratory equipment, and software for data collection.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian food regulations (e.g., NAFDAC, SON) and international standards (e.g., ISO, HACCP) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and report findings clearly.
  • Ability to identify issues in production and suggest practical solutions to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborative with the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in Ibadan or Akure and travel between sites as required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work on shifts or during weekends, as production schedules may require.
