We are looking for a Founding Engineering Lead to drive the development of our platform, work closely with our Co-founders, and scale our technology. This is a rare opportunity to build from the ground up and be part of a high-growth startup from day one.

Role Overview

As Founding Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for building, optimizing, and scaling our core platform. You will play a key role in technical decision-making, product development, and team growth. This is an opportunity to be a foundational member of MDT and shape the future of a global tech-driven interior marketplace.

Your Responsibilities
1. Product Development & Engineering

• Build and launch MDT’s public beta with a scalable and secure architecture.
• Develop a high-performance, user-friendly marketplace for artisans and customers.
• Implement AI-driven recommendations and personalized shopping experiences.
• Ensure a seamless and responsive UI/UX for web and mobile users.
• Optimize the platform for performance, security, and scalability.
  

2. Technical Leadership & Innovation

• Define and execute the engineering roadmap, aligning with MDT’s vision.
• Choose the best tech stack to support platform scalability and efficiency.
• Implement DevOps best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies to keep MDT at the forefront of innovation.
  

3. Team & Collaboration

• Work closely with the Co-founders to develop and execute MDT’s tech strategy.
• Support hiring and mentoring engineers as we scale.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and innovation.
• Communicate technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  

4. Business & Growth Alignment

• Ensure technology solutions align with business goals and user needs.
• Work cross-functionally with design, product, and marketing teams to enhance the user experience.
• Adapt the platform to accommodate growth, partnerships, and evolving customer demands.
  

Who You Are

• Product-Minded Engineer – Understands business needs and builds solutions with users in mind.
• Full-stack expertise in web technologies (Nuxtjs and Node.js (molecularjs and nestjs) and you understand mobile native tech (Swift, Kotlin and Flutter)
• Experience with cloud architecture (AWS & Hetzner)
• Understanding ML and AI-driven recommendations and personalization or willingness to learn.
• DevOps experience (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code)
• Database management (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
• Hands-On Builder – Loves coding, experimenting, and delivering impact-driven tech solutions.
• Marketplace or e-commerce platform experience is a plus
