Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to the executive team on all matters affecting the company.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements, including partnerships, licensing, and vendor contracts.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, both domestic and international.
- Coordinate compliance activities such as registering with applicable agencies and ensuring compliance with regulations that apply to the industry in which we operate.
- Develop and implement robust compliance programs and policies to mitigate legal risks.
- Monitor regulatory developments and ensure the company’s practices adhere to evolving legal
- standards.
- Conduct internal audits and investigations as needed to ensure compliance.
- Represent the company in public policy discussions and advocacy efforts.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry groups, and regulatory bodies.
- Advocate for policies and regulations that support the company’s business objectives and growth.
- Advise on employment law matters, including hiring practices, employee contracts, and
- termination procedures.
- Develop and enforce company policies related to workplace conduct, ethics, and compliance.
- Handle employee disputes and grievances, ensuring fair and lawful resolution.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one state bar.
- Minimum of 3 years of legal experience, with a strong background in technology, startups, or corporate law, intellectual property law, employee relations for IT, banking, or the hospitality industry
- Proven experience in managing a wide range of legal matters, including compliance, IP, and employee relations.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
- Ability to provide strategic legal advice in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
