Role Purpose:
The ideal candidate for the Grants Coordinator role will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and organizing data and resources to develop and write grant proposals effectively. This position is focused on securing funding by crafting compelling grant proposals, preparing necessary documentation, and providing timely progress reports to stakeholders. The Grants Coordinator will also work closely with program teams to monitor funded projects, ensuring accurate and consistent reporting and communication with grant funders. Additionally, this role involves researching and identifying potential funding sources that align with the organization’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential funding sources, including grants from corporations, foundations, government agencies, and individual donors that align with organizational goals.
- Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and submission requirements to ensure timely applications.
- Lead the preparation, development, and submission of grant proposals, ensuring all requirements are met and proposals are compelling.
- Work with program and finance teams to align grant proposals with organizational objectives and gather supporting data, impact metrics, and stories.
- Coordinate with program staff on data collection and reporting practices to ensure compliance with grant terms.
- Coordinate communication with stakeholders, preparing and sharing high-quality presentations and reports to inform strategic decisions.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with funding organizations through regular updates and transparent communication.
- Track and monitor the execution of funded projects to ensure compliance with grant requirements and successful project outcomes.
- Collaborate with finance staff to oversee grant budgets, ensuring funds are used according to grant terms.
- Maintain detailed records of all grant activity, including proposals, communications, deadlines, deliverables, and financials.
- Prepare and submit required financial and programmatic reports to funders in a timely manner.
- Stay current on best practices in grant writing and fundraising to improve grant application success rates.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, social services, writing, journalism, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Extensive experience writing grant proposals, concept notes, slide presentations, and other business documents.
- Proven ability to engage stakeholders effectively, build strong relationships, and manage expectations and needs.
- Strong knowledge of research and analysis, proposal preparation, and project reporting.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with strong multitasking and deadline management skills.
- Ability to work in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
