Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Part-Time Hausa Teacher to join our educational team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the Hausa language, focusing on reading, writing, and speaking skills, while fostering a deeper understanding of Hausa culture. This role is part-time and offers a flexible schedule, ideal for individuals who are committed to language education and cultural preservation.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Hausa language lessons, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversational skills.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of beginner to advanced students.
  • Develop and administer quizzes, tests, and other assessments to measure student progress.
  • Foster a positive and interactive learning environment that encourages student participation.
  • Incorporate multimedia tools and culturally relevant materials to enhance the learning experience.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them improve their language skills.
  • Introduce students to the rich Hausa culture, traditions, and values through discussions and activities.
  • Stay updated with best practices in language instruction and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and progress.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to ensure high-quality education standards.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of a BSc. degree in Hausa, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience teaching the Hausa language in a formal educational setting.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written Hausa.
  • Strong communication and instructional skills.
  • Ability to create and implement effective lesson plans for students with different proficiency levels.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methods and technology-assisted learning.
  • Passion for Hausa language and culture, and the ability to integrate cultural elements into lessons.
  • A teaching certificate is an added advantage.
  • Available to work on a part-time basis with a flexible schedule.


Remuneration: NGN 60,000 - NGN 70,000
