Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Teach Hausa language lessons, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversational skills.
- Prepare and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of beginner to advanced students.
- Develop and administer quizzes, tests, and other assessments to measure student progress.
- Foster a positive and interactive learning environment that encourages student participation.
- Incorporate multimedia tools and culturally relevant materials to enhance the learning experience.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them improve their language skills.
- Introduce students to the rich Hausa culture, traditions, and values through discussions and activities.
- Stay updated with best practices in language instruction and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and progress.
- Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to ensure high-quality education standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a BSc. degree in Hausa, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience teaching the Hausa language in a formal educational setting.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written Hausa.
- Strong communication and instructional skills.
- Ability to create and implement effective lesson plans for students with different proficiency levels.
- Familiarity with modern teaching methods and technology-assisted learning.
- Passion for Hausa language and culture, and the ability to integrate cultural elements into lessons.
- A teaching certificate is an added advantage.
- Available to work on a part-time basis with a flexible schedule.
Remuneration: NGN 60,000 - NGN 70,000
