Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Contract Management
- Oversee the development, negotiation, and management of contracts with suppliers, contractors, and partners.
- Ensure all contracts are legally compliant and aligned with company policies and strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain a robust contract governance framework to manage risks and ensure performance.
- Monitor contract execution to ensure adherence to terms, conditions, and deliverables.
Procurement and Vendor Management
- Develop procurement strategies to support the company’s operational and strategic goals.
- Lead vendor selection, evaluation, and relationship management to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers and service providers.
- Oversee the implementation of sustainable procurement practices.
Commercial Strategy
- Develop and execute commercial strategies to optimize profitability and operational efficiency.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for cost savings, revenue generation, and value creation.
- Evaluate market trends and regulatory changes to guide strategic decision-making.
- Oversee the management of joint venture agreements, partnerships, and other commercial relationships.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to contracts, procurement, and commercial activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, legal requirements, and company policies.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address disputes and ensure regulatory adherence.
- Establish monitoring systems to track contract and commercial performance.
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead and mentor a team of contract and commercial professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Develop training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, operations, and technical departments.
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of contract law, commercial agreements, and procurement processes in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills to drive favorable outcomes in contracts and agreements.
- Proficiency in contract management software and procurement tools.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of market dynamics, cost analysis, and financial modeling.
- Ability to identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
- Knowledge of international trade, logistics, and supply chain management in the oil and gas sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in contracts, procurement, or commercial management, with leadership roles in the oil and gas industry.
- Relevant certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or IACCM (International Association for Contract and Commercial Management) are an advantage.
