Head of Exploration and Production (E&P)

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Leadership

• Develop and implement the company's exploration and production strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
• Identify and assess new exploration opportunities to expand the company’s resource portfolio.
• Lead the preparation of long-term production forecasts and ensure alignment with market demands.

Exploration Management

• Oversee geological and geophysical studies to identify potential oil and gas reserves.
• Approve exploration drilling programs and budgets.
• Monitor exploration project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and technical standards.

Production Operations

• Manage all production activities, including well drilling, completion, and optimization.
• Ensure production targets are met while maintaining operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Evaluate and implement advanced technologies to enhance recovery rates and production capacity.

HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment)

• Ensure all exploration and production activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Promote a culture of safety and sustainability across all operations.
• Monitor and mitigate environmental risks associated with exploration and production activities.

Budgeting and Financial Management

• Prepare and manage budgets for exploration and production projects.
• Monitor project expenditures and ensure financial discipline.
• Collaborate with the finance team to evaluate the economic viability of projects.

Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with local and international laws.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with joint venture partners, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Represent the company at industry forums, conferences, and government meetings.

Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of geology, geophysics, reservoir engineering, and production operations.
• Proficiency in industry software and technologies for exploration and production.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
• Understanding of economic modeling and cost management in exploration and production.
• Ability to evaluate the profitability and risks of projects.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
• Team-oriented with the ability to work across diverse cultures and teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a significant portion in exploration and production leadership roles.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., PMP, IWCF) are an advantage.
