Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation of the Bank’s management and financial statements (daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annually, annually, etc.) to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Bank’s general ledgers, revenue recognition, accounts payable and receivables, and all taxation processes.
  • Controlling budgets and expenditures by researching their impact on business performance.
  • Proper monitoring, recording, and safeguarding of the Bank’s assets and formulating policies that will have a positive impact on business performance.
  • Ascertaining that all accounting endeavours comply with appropriate financial laws and regulations.
  • Oversee budget planning, preparation, implementation, and monitoring process in the Bank.
  • Frequent preparation, analysis, interpretation, and monitoring of the cash flow of the Bank. 
  • Provide advice to Management on appropriate cost control measures for cost optimalization purposes.
  • Ensure proper handling of all regulatory issues in order to protect the interest of the Bank.
  • Management of all the financial records of the bank by ensuring proper record keeping.
  • Ensure efficient relationship management between the Bank and other regulatory bodies and institutions.
  • Ensure that all financial returns to (NDIC, FIRS, CBN, etc.) are filed as at when due to avoid any form of sanctions or financial losses for the Bank.
  • Providing back-office services such as accounts payable, collections, and payroll management.
  • Providing insightful reporting and commercial analysis to support management decision-making.
  • Coordinating all statutory and regulatory examinations of the Bank.  
  • Must have practical knowledge of banking principles and operations with strong analytical skills.
  • Must possess sound hands-on knowledge of IFRS and its impact on the business environment.
  • Effective decision-making and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess a business mindset that focuses on profitability.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on developing people.
