Position Overview

GUA is seeking a full-time Student Advisor. This role involves counseling international students, facilitating communication with institutions, and assisting in student recruitment efforts.

Student Advisor Role Responsibilities

  • Counsel prospective students on suitable study options, including courses and institutions.
  • Schedule and conduct phone calls and meetings to convey accurate program information.
  • Address individual student needs regarding admission requirements and qualifications.
  • Assist in creating a focused shortlist of applications to optimize counseling time.
  • Support students through the admissions, visa, and pre-departure processes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students and their families to enhance GUA's reputation.
  • Uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethics in all interactions.

Requirements To Succeed In This Role

  • HND/BSc Degree from a reputable university.
  • 1-3 years of experience in educational consultancy or counseling.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience in a sales-driven environment with a focus on achieving individual and team-based targets.
  • Knowledge of education institutions, admission processes, and immigration requirements.
  • Outstanding communication skills, able to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders (students, parents, institution representatives, colleagues).
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Customer-focused, with a passion for providing outstanding service.
  • Highly effective relationship-building and management skills.
  • Effective team player, supporting colleagues and contributing positively to overall team success.
  • Ability to proactively identify, analyze, and solve problems effectively.
  • Sound judgment, capable of making decisions and acting with integrity in the best interests of GUA.
