Purpose Statement
We are searching for a skilled Head of Merchant Business to join our innovative team. The Head of Merchant Business at CredPal will be responsible for developing and executing the merchant business strategy. This role will drive the growth of our merchant network, increase merchant engagement, and optimize merchant services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, merchant services, and fintech, along with a track record of building successful partnerships in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the merchant business strategy, ensuring alignment with CredPal’s overall goals.
- Merchant Acquisition: Drive the acquisition of new merchants by identifying and engaging with potential partners, onboarding them to CredPal’s platform.
- Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with existing merchants, ensuring high engagement, satisfaction, and loyalty.
- Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth by expanding merchant services, introducing new products, and increasing transaction volume from merchant partnerships.
- Merchant Training & Support: Oversee merchant education and training programs to ensure partners understand and maximize the benefits of CredPal’s products.
- Product Optimization: Collaborate with the product team to tailor CredPal’s offerings for merchant needs, ensuring product-market fit and improving the user experience.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges within the merchant business sector.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and customer service teams to support merchant growth initiatives and improve operational efficiency.
- Performance Monitoring: Track key metrics related to merchant business growth, revenue, and retention; provide regular reports and actionable insights to executive leadership.
- Innovation & Problem Solving: Identify and resolve challenges in merchant engagement and satisfaction; recommend innovative solutions to enhance merchant experiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- 4+ years of experience in business development, merchant services, or fintech, preferably with a focus on merchant acquisition and growth.
- Proven experience in the financial services or fintech industry.
- Strong understanding of merchant operations and needs within the credit and payments ecosystem.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and building strategic partnerships.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, trends, and market insights.
