The role of the Product Sales Specialist is a critical part of our ongoing commitment to excellence in demand generation (sales) and our client-centricity and fit-for-purpose development of solutions that meet our clients’ challenges.
The Product Sales Specialist is an integral part of our sales strategy- he or she is charged with the responsibility with products line contribution as a business unit. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products/solutions to developing new solutions for the company.
The primary responsibilities are:
To establish strong, trust-based relationships with clients and vendors.
The Product Sales Specialist closes on qualified opportunities referred by the Client Managers, Product Sales Manager or executives while actively collaborating with team members to achieve sales targets in the assigned product/solution lines.
Responsibilities
- Reports and to be mentored by General Manager, Product/Solutions Sales
- Achieves assigned product/solution lines sales targets by working closely with other members of demand generation team (executives, Client Managers, Presales)
- Serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working closely with the Client managers and clients.
- Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
- Managing vendors (OEMs) relationship- and analysing potential partners’/OEM relationships for solution adoption under the leadership of Solutions sales Managers
- Responsible for opportunity registration with clients and dissemination of the knowledge to all relevant parties i.e. executives, client managers.
- Managing the entire product/solution line life-cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities- will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy,
- Work closely with the Clients Managers to align right solutions to the clients - helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target clients.
- Responsible for development of proposal and business case for his or her line of business/solutions
- Establish strong, trust-based relationships with clients and other teams within the business.
Qualifications
- 5 years Product/solution sales experience in ICT services industry
- Strategic Perspective- market & clients’ needs understanding. Very Good Solution Sales /Business Development skills- must enjoy spending time with the clients to understand their challenges and find innovative solutions for the broader market.
- Very Good Technology background.
- knowledge of Datacenter and Cloud solutions –Compute, Storage, network, Backup/Recovery, DR Planning, Virtualization, ADC), e.t.c will be an advantage.
- Business & Finance Acumen
- Must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.
- Flexibility to navigate ambiguity and effectively manage changing priorities
- Ability to negotiate and set personal priority and get work done within the timeframes established
- Strong orientation to ‘be the best’ – strong work ethic, enthusiasm and desire for excellence required
