About the Role
This is a full-time on-site role for a Head of Credit at Remedial Health. The role involves managing credit processes, assessing credit risks, overseeing portfolio management, and utilizing analytical skills to optimize credit strategies and financial outcomes. The Head of Credit will be responsible for developing and implementing credit policies, collaborating with finance teams, and ensuring efficient credit operations within the organization.
Job Description
• Overseeing and optimizing the assessment and underwriting of customers to determine eligibility for credit
• Manage a quality loan portfolio for the company and ensure we maintain a healthy loan portfolio
• Analyze existing credit data to extract insights and inform strategic decision making
• Monitor compliance with loan repayment terms for all customers and prevent delinquent loans
• Manage the credit risk profile of the customers portfolio and maintain alignment with risk appetite by rebalancing of risks that may be required in response to internal and external factors
• Oversee the collection and recovery process to maintain portfolio delinquencies and charge offs within plans or expectations
• Develop and approve the collections strategy for implementation
• Provide guidance, leadership and direction to reporting lines
• Work hand in hand with the Technical department on leveraging technology to automate the assessment process of customers
Skills
• Expert in credit risk analysis or underwriting principles, methods and practices
• Strong expertisein quantitative analysis
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Understanding of financial statements, ratios and concepts
• Good communication skills, excellent organizational and decision-making abilities
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a credit analyst
• Experience working in a Microfinance Bank or a Fintech
• Demonstrable knowledge of financial analysis, credit risk analysis and monitoring
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite tools
