Job Summary

Our ecommerce business requires a Head of Finance to assume a senior leadership role, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization. Experience includes financial planning, analysis, reporting, accounting, business valuation financial modeling treasury, and risk management. The Head of Finance will play a critical role in ensuring the organization's financial health, stability, and compliance. This role requires the candidate to be a strategic thinker with strong financial acumen, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of financial regulations.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's overall business objectives. This includes budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and analysis of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other management reports. Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).  
  • Accounting Operations: Manage the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Ensure accurate and efficient accounting processes.  
  • Treasury Management: Oversee cash management, banking relationships, investments, and debt management. Develop strategies to optimize cash flow and manage financial risk.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks. This includes operational risk, financial risk, and compliance risk.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and implement strong internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
  • Audit Management: Manage the annual financial audit process, working closely with external auditors.
  • Investor Relations: (In some organizations) Communicate financial information to investors and other stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, providing training, development, and performance feedback.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the finance department budget.
  • Strategic Advisor: Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and other senior leaders on financial matters.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: (In some organizations) Participate in mergers and acquisitions, providing financial due diligence and integration support.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in finance.
