Position Overview:

A leading law firm in Nigeria, dedicated to leveraging technology to enhance its legal services, improve operational efficiency, and deliver exceptional value to its clients, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of IT and Technology Transformation. This individual will lead the firm’s technology initiatives and drive its digital strategy.


The Head of IT and Technology Transformation will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the firm’s goals and objectives. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in IT management, digital transformation, and project execution within the legal sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving innovation, optimizing technology infrastructure, and enhancing service delivery through technology.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a technology strategy that supports the firm’s vision and strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with senior management to identify opportunities for technology integration and innovation.
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging technology trends and their implications for the legal industry.


Technology Transformation:

  • Lead the digital transformation initiatives across the firm, focusing on process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Assess current technology systems and infrastructure, identifying areas for enhancement or replacement.
  • Implement innovative technology solutions to streamline workflows and enhance client service delivery.


IT Management:

  • Oversee the IT department, including infrastructure management, software development, and technical support.
  • Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of all technology systems and data.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure optimal service delivery and value for the firm.


Project Management:

  • Lead and manage technology projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  • Establish project governance frameworks and methodologies to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor project progress and address any issues or risks that may arise.


Change Management:

  • Foster a culture of innovation and change within the firm, encouraging staff to embrace new technologies and processes.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff proficiency in using technology tools and systems.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment and buy-in for technology initiatives.


Data Management and Analytics:

  • Implement data management strategies to enhance data integrity, accessibility, and security.
  • Leverage data analytics to drive decision-making, improve client services, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to provide insights into key performance metrics.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT management or technology transformation, preferably in the legal sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading digital transformation initiatives and managing technology projects.
  • Strong understanding of legal technology trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and data protection regulations.
