Job Summary

The Head of Marketing, E-commerce is a critical leadership role responsible for developing and executing the overall marketing strategy for an e-commerce business. This role requires a data-driven, creative, and strategic thinker with a deep understanding of digital marketing, e-commerce trends, and customer acquisition. The Head of Marketing will lead a team to drive traffic, increase conversions, build brand awareness, and ultimately drive revenue growth.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive e-commerce marketing strategy aligned with business objectives, target audience, and brand identity. This includes defining target segments, identifying key channels, and setting measurable goals.
  • Digital Marketing Execution: Oversee the execution of all digital marketing activities, including:
    • Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Develop and implement SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings and drive traffic.
    • Search Engine Marketing (SEM)/Pay-Per-Click (PPC): Manage paid advertising campaigns across search engines and other platforms.
    • Social Media Marketing: Develop and execute social media strategies to engage target audiences, build brand awareness, and drive traffic to the e-commerce site.
    • Email Marketing: Develop and implement email marketing campaigns to nurture leads, promote products, and drive repeat purchases.
    • Affiliate Marketing: Manage affiliate marketing programs to expand reach and drive sales.
    • Display Advertising: Oversee display advertising campaigns across relevant websites and platforms.
    • Content Marketing: Develop and execute a content marketing strategy to attract and engage target audiences.
  • E-commerce Platform Optimization: Collaborate with the e-commerce team to optimize the website for conversions, including product presentation, user experience, and checkout process.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to marketing campaigns, website traffic, and sales. Use data to inform marketing decisions and optimize campaigns for maximum ROI.
  • Brand Building: Develop and implement strategies to build brand awareness, brand loyalty, and positive brand perception.
  • Customer Acquisition & Retention: Develop and implement strategies to acquire new customers and retain existing ones. This includes loyalty programs, personalized marketing, and customer relationship management (CRM).
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximizing ROI.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the marketing team, providing training, development, and performance feedback.
  • Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, product development, and customer service, to ensure alignment and achieve business goals.  
  • Emerging Technologies: Stay up to date with the latest e-commerce marketing trends, technologies, and best practices.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in e-commerce marketing.
  • Proven track record of driving traffic, increasing conversions, and growing revenue in an e-commerce environment.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and affiliate marketing.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento) and marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


Other Qualifications:

  • Experience with international e-commerce markets.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and customer segmentation.
  • Experience with marketing automation tools.
  • Certification in digital marketing or a related field.
