Role Overview
Our client seeks a dynamic Head of Talent Acquisition to lead and establish our People function as a core Strategic Business Unit. The role is crucial to shaping Hugo’s talent strategy, enhancing employee experience, building a high-performance culture, and driving engagement. This leader will oversee a team of seasoned HR professionals, guiding all aspects of talent acquisition, development, performance management, and employee relations to position talent as a unique competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Talent Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement a talent strategy that supports Hugo's mission and goals.
- Sourcing & Onboarding: Design strategies to attract and retain world-class talent across various functions, ensuring long-term engagement.
- Employer Branding: Establish Hugo as a top employer in Africa, leading initiatives to attract seasoned professionals passionate about impactful work on the continent.
- Organizational Development: Lead change management and organizational development efforts to align with company growth.
- Performance & Employee Development: Oversee initiatives to foster continuous employee growth and high performance.
- HR Operations Management: Supervise core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and benefits, while ensuring compliance with employment laws.
- Data-Driven HR: Leverage metrics and data analysis to inform decisions and optimize talent strategies.
- Cultural Development: Build and maintain a positive company culture aligned with Hugo's core values.
- HR Policy Management: Develop and standardize HR policies and procedures to support a fair and consistent workplace.
- Employee Relations: Create frameworks for resolving complex employee relations issues.
- Recruitment KPIs: Implement robust tracking and data management systems to measure recruitment success.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years of comprehensive recruiting experience, including leadership roles in multinational companies, startups, scale-ups, or global consultancies. A strong blend of corporate (in-house) and staffing agency experience is preferred.
- People Management: Demonstrated ability to handle both strategic and operational HR issues in fast-paced environments.
- African Market Insight: In-depth understanding of, and extensive experience operating within, the African market.
- Leadership: Proven success in establishing business units from the ground up, driving operational excellence, and improving processes.
- Project Management: Excellent organizational skills with experience in project management and management reporting.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Preferred Skills: Fluency in French and management consulting experience or comparable client-facing roles.
