Job Summary

The Head of Sales is in charge of developing weekly/monthly/annual and seasonal sales targets for the department, examining growth opportunities, enabling sales improvements, product mix development, and taking responsibility for the department’s performance against targets.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Business Development Activities; proposal writing and reviews, pitch writing and reviews, providing consistent client engagement and client management across new and existing client portfolios.
  • Own all plans and strategies for developing business and achieving the company’s sales goals.
  • Lead in the development of the sales plan. Conduct market research analysis, and prepare sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses for management to use in organizational planning, financial forecasting, budget setting, and strategic planning.
  • Monitoring and management of all existing and new accounts, including debt recovery/collection or credit collection.
  • Increase sales and actively seek out new sales by advertising our brand, new products, and tour packages through cold calling, networking, promotions, and social media.
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements, tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
  • Work collaboratively across teams - including IT, Operations, Finance, Social media, Product and Marketing.
  • Provide full visibility into the sales pipeline at every stage of development
  • Achievement of monthly/quarterly/yearly sales targets including excellent customer service satisfaction at all times.
  • Provide leadership to the sales team to enhance their performance.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Master’s degree in relevant Discipline
  • Related Travel and Tourism Certifications
  • At least 10 years of proven work experience as a sales and marketing lead preferably in the travel or banking industry.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of sales principles and practices, and an ability to coach others on them.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and   drive actions
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strength in problem-solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide training in sales,
  • Travel insurance and online booking systems.
  • A passion for sales.
  • Understanding of commercial trends and marketing strategies
  • Good project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task
