  1. JOB PURPOSE:

The Head of Sales and Marketing will lead and drive the sales and marketing initiatives for an HR recruitment agency, focusing on increasing brand awareness, client acquisition, and revenue growth. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in sales, marketing, and team leadership within the HR or recruitment industry, with proven success in developing effective strategies and driving team performance.

  1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Strategic Planning and Execution
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the sales and marketing strategy to drive business growth and achieve revenue targets.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and client needs to adjust strategies as needed.
  • Create an annual budget for sales and marketing activities, ensuring effective allocation and ROI tracking.
  1. Sales Management
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their recruitment needs and offering tailored solutions.
  • Develop a sales pipeline and manage the sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals.
  1. Marketing and Brand Development
  • Oversee all marketing activities, including digital campaigns, events, content creation, and social media, to enhance brand visibility.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective promotional materials, including brochures, ads, and website content.
  • Conduct market research to identify target audience segments and refine messaging.
  1. Team Leadership and Development
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales and marketing team.
  • Set clear performance goals, regularly review team performance, and provide guidance and support to meet objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment, ensuring alignment with company values and goals.
  1. Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor for their recruitment needs.
  • Manage client expectations and ensure high levels of satisfaction with recruitment services.
  • Handle client feedback and resolve issues promptly to retain business and enhance agency reputation.
  1. Reporting and Analytics
  • Develop and present regular reports on sales and marketing performance, including key metrics, trends, and insights.
  • Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adjust strategies to optimize results.
  • Ensure CRM systems are up-to-date and accurate, facilitating efficient sales processes and data tracking.

  2. Sales and Revenue Growth
  • Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
  • Increase new client acquisition by a targeted percentage year-over-year.
  • Track and report on revenue from existing clients through upselling and cross-selling initiatives.
  1. Market Penetration and Client Acquisition
  • Increase market share within Lagos and other target locations.
  • Achieve a set percentage increase in the number of new accounts (clients) secured each quarter.
  • Measure client acquisition cost (CAC) and ensure it remains within budget.
  1. Client Retention and Satisfaction
  • Maintain a high client retention rate (e.g., 85-90% or above).
  • Improve customer satisfaction scores through regular feedback surveys, targeting a minimum rating threshold.
  • Reduce client churn rate to an established target.
  1.  Marketing ROI and Brand Awareness
  • Increase brand awareness and reach as measured by website traffic, social media engagement, and campaign performance.
  • Achieve ROI targets for marketing spend, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Meet lead generation targets and conversion rates from marketing campaigns.
  1. Team Performance and Development
  • Meet or exceed sales targets set for each team member.
  • Improve team productivity and efficiency as measured by KPIs such as sales cycle time and lead conversion rates.
  • Achieve a set target in employee engagement and retention scores within the sales and marketing team.
  1. Sales Process and CRM Efficiency
  • Ensure 100% usage and accurate data entry in CRM tools.
  • Reduce sales cycle time by a targeted percentage.
  • Achieve full compliance with pipeline reporting and forecasting accuracy.
  1. Strategic Initiatives and Innovation
  • Successfully launch at least two major new initiatives or campaigns per year to drive client acquisition or retention.
  • Introduce innovative sales or marketing practices that lead to efficiency improvements or increased market competitiveness.

11. Qualification and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales and marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the recruitment or HR industry.
  • Strong understanding of the HR recruitment landscape in Lagos and Nigeria.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful sales and marketing strategies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive decisions.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and digital marketing tools.
