Job Summary
- You must be digitally savvy, and data-driven such that you are looking constantly at your members’ needs, responding to them and also looking at population-level data and coming up with ideas on how to drive continued engagement and adherence.
- We are looking for risk-takers with a lot of initiative who are willing to learn and grow with and add value to a startup company that wants to help people improve their health and wellness.
- You must be comfortable with technology, working remotely and supporting your groups of individuals remotely as well as in person.
- You must be responsive to their needs and willing to be adaptive.
Responsibilities
- Develop a coaching relationship with members and assist them through the process of actively working towards better health by providing support, encouragement, and education virtually and in person.
- Apply various coaching techniques (motivational interviewing, CBT, behaviour change theory) to allocated members to ensure personal goals are achieved.
- Support the development and delivery of coaching programs according to company standards and industry-safe practices
- Assist members in setting specific, measurable, and achievable health goals.
- Educate members on how to manage certain chronic diseases to avoid relapses, hospital admissions and disease progression with the necessary referral to the relevant healthcare professional and or other therapeutic interventions.
- Monitor members’ progress, accurate tracking of key health metrics, reporting and capturing of coaching sessions.
- Meet set targets: productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction scores etc.
- Compile reports that show trend analysis of clients’ progressions etc.
- Utilisation of work tools e.g. Leverage the Complete health application as a tool to manage members and input data.
- Review data constantly to inform how you coach the member and provide feedback within expected time frames on improvements or support.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as nutritionists and fitness trainers, when necessary to provide comprehensive support.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in health and wellness to provide evidence-based guidance.
- Apply professional, verbal and written communication skills required through all coaching interactions with members to build rapport and motivate them.
- Be intentional about quality, attention to detail and excellence in service delivery.
- Build positive relationships to ensure successful outcomes
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in health coaching, health promotion, chronic illness management or other clinical role preferred. The experience could include coaching, personal training, nutrition counselling, or any role involving wellness promotion.
- Health coach certification from a recognised accrediting body is preferred (advantageous)
- Clinical qualification accredited with a health professions body
- Master’s degree or relevant qualification in social services or health-related field preferred (nursing/midwifery, psychology, counselling, health education, exercise science, nutrition and dietetics, etc.) preferred but not required
- Expert knowledge of motivational interviewing, reflective listening, behaviour change theory, and health psychology preferred
- Proficiency in computer data entry and Microsoft Office
- Ability to coordinate telephonic and chat communication with clients while simultaneously navigating software platforms and entering data, for extended periods
- Ability to synthesise data to make informed decisions about how best to support the member.
- Technology savvy and enthusiastic adopter of work and personal tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong communication and “person-centered” skills.
