Job Description/Requirements
We are seeking an experienced Marine HVAC Engineer with at least 10 years of expertise in the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of marine HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems specific to marine environments, with a focus on efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Design and Engineering: Develop and design HVAC systems tailored to marine environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and vessel requirements.
- Installation Supervision: Oversee the installation of HVAC systems on new or retrofitted vessels, ensuring all procedures are carried out efficiently and according to plans.
- Maintenance & Repair: Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC systems to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to safety standards.
- Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all HVAC installations and maintenance adhere to industry and safety regulations (such as IMO, ABS, or DNV standards).
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all HVAC installations, inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare cost estimates and budgets for HVAC projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with marine engineers, shipyard personnel, and subcontractors, providing technical expertise and guidance as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on advancements in marine HVAC technologies and recommend improvements for existing systems.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in HVAC engineering, specifically in marine environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in HVAC software (such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks), as well as a thorough understanding of marine HVAC systems.
- Certifications: Relevant HVAC certifications and familiarity with maritime industry regulations.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing HVAC issues in a marine context.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills for coordinating with various teams and stakeholders.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in confined spaces, onboard vessels, and in shipyard environments when necessary.
