Job Summary

The ideal candidate will diagnose and study diseases by examining tissues and/or cells, making tissue diagnoses and helping clinicians manage patients' care.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Perform microscopic examination of tissue specimens to identify and diagnose diseases, including cancers, infections, and other abnormalities.
  • Analyze, interpret, and document histological findings, preparing detailed reports for referring physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Employ a range of diagnostic techniques, including immunochemistry, electron microscopy, and molecular testing, to further investigate and confirm diagnoses when necessary.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including surgeons, oncologists, and radiologists, to discuss and analyze patient cases, provide expert advice and recommendations, and participate in treatment planning.
  • Ensure accurate and complete specimen identification, tracking, and documentation throughout the entire diagnostic process, maintaining strict adherence to quality control and laboratory safety protocols.
  • Stay current with the latest research and developments in the field of histopathology, attending conferences, seminars, and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Supervise and mentor pathology residents, medical laboratory technologists, and other laboratory staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and contribute to the improvement of laboratory processes and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new diagnostic techniques, protocols, and technologies to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of histopathological diagnoses.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation of all performed analyses, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.


Requirements:

  • Medical degree (MBBS) from an accredited medical school.
  • Completed residency training for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.


Work schedule: 2 days per week, 2 weeks on (8 AM -5 PM) and 2 weeks off
