Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Plan and Deliver Lessons: Develop and teach comprehensive home economics lessons that align with curriculum standards for
- Student Assessment: Design and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the academic team to enhance the home economics curriculum and integrate contemporary economic issues.
- Classroom Management: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active practical, participation, and learning.
- Individualized Support: Offer additional support and guidance to students who need help understanding complex economic concepts.
- Technology Integration: Utilize digital tools and resources to enhance teaching methods and engage students effectively.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the school's academic initiatives.
- Parent Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians regarding student performance and any concerns.
- Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in school activities and events, contributing to the overall school community.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years post-NYSC teaching experience in economics.
- Teaching certification or professional qualifications in education are a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of economics curriculum and teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software.
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
- Passionate about teaching and committed to student success.
