Job Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for guests and residents. This role involves routine cleaning, organizing, and basic upkeep of rooms, common areas, and designated spaces.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Sanitizing:

  • Clean, dust, vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in designated areas, including guest rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, and common spaces.
  • Sanitize and disinfect high-touch areas, such as doorknobs, light switches, and bathroom surfaces, to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces as needed.


Laundry and Linen Service:

  • Change bed linens, towels, and other linens, following company protocols for handling and replacing used items.
  • Collect, sort, and deliver linens to the laundry room and ensure fresh items are stocked.


Restocking and Inventory Management:

  • Replenish supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, shampoo, and other amenities in guest rooms and bathrooms.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment from the supervisor as needed.


Organizing and Tidying:

  • Arrange furniture, pillows, and décor items to create a welcoming atmosphere for residents and guests.
  • Ensure kitchen and dining areas are clean and organized, and dishware and utensils are properly stored.


Waste Management:

  • Collect and dispose of garbage and recycling from guest rooms, common areas, and designated areas daily.
  • Ensure waste is handled according to environmental and company guidelines.


Maintenance Reporting:

  • Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed, such as leaky faucets, broken fixtures, or malfunctioning equipment, to the supervisor or maintenance team.


Customer Service:

  • Respond to guest requests in a friendly, timely manner.
  • Handle special cleaning requests and support guests with basic inquiries about their stay if needed.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar cleaning role is preferred but not required.
  • High standards for cleanliness, with a strong eye for detail.
  • Ability to complete tasks efficiently and manage multiple cleaning duties.
  • Comfortable with physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, and repetitive motions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Positive attitude and reliability, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Comfortable with standing, bending, stooping, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor areas if needed.
