Job Summary

We are seeking to hire an experienced HR Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources within our growing organization, based in Lagos. You will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with our business objectives, fostering a positive and productive work environment, and ensuring compliance with all relevant labor laws. You'll develop HR strategies, manage the full employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, development, relations, compensation, compliance), and foster a positive work culture.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities: 
Strategic HR Leadership:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies that align with the company’s mission, vision, and business objectives. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on HR-related matters, including workforce planning, organizational design, and change management. 
  • Partner with leadership to drive cultural initiatives that promote employee engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). 
  • Monitor HR metrics and analytics to identify trends, assess workforce needs, and recommend solutions to improve organizational effectiveness. 
 
Talent Acquisition & Retention:
  • Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process, from sourcing and interviewing to hiring and onboarding, ensuring a seamless candidate experience. 
  • Develop employer branding strategies to attract top talent and position the company as an employer of choice. 
  • Implement retention strategies to reduce turnover and enhance employee satisfaction, such as career development programs, recognition initiatives, and competitive compensation packages. 
 
Employee Relations & Compliance:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and investigations. 
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring confidentiality and data security. 
  • Conduct regular audits of HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks. 
 
Performance Management:
  • Design and implement performance management systems, including goal setting, appraisals, feedback, and development plans. 
  • Facilitate annual performance reviews and provide guidance to managers on delivering constructive feedback. 
  • Identify underperforming employees and collaborate with managers to create improvement plans. 
 

Training & Development:
  • Assess training needs across the organization and develop programs to address skill gaps and enhance employee capabilities. 
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and leadership development programs to foster professional growth. 
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning by encouraging employees to pursue certifications, courses, and other educational opportunities. 

 
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Develop and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs that align with industry standards and organizational budgets. 
  • Conduct salary benchmarking studies and recommend adjustments to ensure pay equity and market competitiveness. 
  • Manage relationships with benefits providers and negotiate contracts to secure cost-effective plans for employees. 
 
HR Operations & Technology:
  • Oversee the use of HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) to streamline processes such as payroll, benefits administration, and reporting. 
  • Stay updated on HR technology trends and implement tools that improve efficiency and employee experience. 
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity within HR systems and generate reports for leadership review. 
 

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration, or a related field. A master 's degree or relevant HR certifications (e.g., CIPM) is an advantage. 
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in human resources, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role. 
  • Proven experience in recruitment, talent management, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, and training and development. 
  • Proven track record of successfully managing HR functions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities. 
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. 
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented approach. 
  • Strong understanding of HR technology and systems. 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, preferably within the media, technology, or lifestyle sectors. 

Skills & Competencies: 
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. 
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities. 
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
