Our client, a new entrant in the Nigerian oil and gas industry, with office at Victoria Island, Lagos is looking for a dedicated Human Resources Officer to join their team. The Human Resources Officer will play a crucial role in managing HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with industry regulations. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can effectively support our workforce and contribute to a positive work environment.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract skilled professionals.
- Conduct interviews, reference checks, and background screenings.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Address employee grievances and mediate conflicts.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Performance Management:
- Assist in the development and implementation of performance appraisal systems.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on performance-related issues.
- Conduct training sessions on performance management best practices.
Compliance and Policy Management:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and industry-specific regulations.
- Update and maintain HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to company policies.
Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and issues.
- Coordinate open enrollment and benefits communication.
HR Data Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Generate HR reports and analyze data to support decision-making.
- Utilize HRIS (Human Resources Information System) to manage employee information.
Requirements:
- HND/Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in HR roles, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
