Husbandry Manager

Responsibilities:

• Animal Health Management: Oversee the health and well-being of the goat herd by monitoring for signs of illness, administering vaccinations, and coordinating veterinary care as needed.
• Breeding Program Management: Develop and implement breeding strategies, track reproductive cycles, and manage the kidding process to ensure optimal herd growth and productivity.
• Nutrition and Feeding Plans: Create and manage feeding programs tailored to different stages of goat growth, ensuring the herd receives proper nutrition for optimal health and production.
• Pasture and Grazing Management: Maintain and manage pastureland through rotational grazing, planting, weeding, and fertilizing to provide high-quality forage for the goats.
• Record Keeping and Compliance: Maintain detailed records of herd performance, health treatments, and breeding data, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and farm policies.

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Proven experience in animal husbandry, with veterinary knowledge or experience in livestock health management.
• Strong understanding of livestock nutrition, breeding, and health management.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
•  Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Remuneration: NGN 75,000 - 150,000 based on experience and proven competency.
