We are searching for a highly dedicated machine operator to operate a 10 ton hydraulic stamping press that produces plastic roofing tiles. Quality awareness and accurate production reporting is a major responsibility.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a hydraulic stamping press with manual loading and unloading.
  • Feed raw materials into machines and remove finished products as needed, ensuring proper placement and alignment.
  • Observe machine operations to identify potential issues like jams, malfunctions, or quality defects.
  • Perform simple cleaning tasks on machines, including removing debris, wiping down surfaces, and lubricating parts as directed.
  • Visually inspect products for defects and report to your supervisor.
  • Meet and/ or exceed daily production goals.
  • Report all machine malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Manually pack tiles into packaging containers.
  • Strive to produce only quality products.
  • Ensure that roofing tiles are placed on gauges every 30 minutes to confirm irregularities or errors.
  • Filling out a daily report on the production sheet is required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and fix minor problems on the hydraulic stamping press is required.
  • Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty.
  • Arrive at work on time and be at your workstation ready to work at the start of your shift.
  • Perform cleaning duties as required, in order to maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Ensure the use of PPE at all times. This includes safety boots(steel toe shoes), safety goggles or glasses and ear plugs (hearing protection) must be worn at all times on the production floor.


Requirements:

  • Diploma from a Polytechnic, technical school or WAEC certificate is acceptable.
  • 3 - 4 years experience in Production/manufacturing facility. Experience in plastics manufacturing industry will be a plus.
  • Ability to organize your workstation.
  • Must be articulate: Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Able to effectively communicate with other staffs in a respectful and honest manner.
  • Ability to record basic information on a production sheet.
  • Basic maths and computer skills are required.
  • Ability to perform minor troubleshooting tasks.
  • Ability to use measuring gauges such as tape measure, caliper, Micrometer, height gauge etc
  • Good team working skills.
  • Ability to read and understand a CAD or blueprint drawing.
  • Ability to safely perform heavy lifting (up to 35 kg)
  • Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to comprehend job training and safety instructions.

  • Report all injuries/accidents and near misses immediately to the supervisor or a member of management.
  • Report all unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Use assigned equipment and materials properly.

  • Commit to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
  • Willingness to help correct mistakes when they happen.
  • Ability to interact professionally and work as a team player with the Production Staff and Quality Control staff.
