Job Summary

Subject teachers are responsible for maximizing the academic progress of the students they teach, working with colleagues to participate fully in the development of the department. They promote a positive, purposeful, and professional working atmosphere that encourages cooperation and challenge, whilst valuing the contribution that individuals make to the success of the department. The Computing Department is very well-resourced and forms part of the extremely successful Mathematics and Computing Faculty. The department has developed a rigorous curriculum that provides an abundance of challenges and opportunities to develop coding skills for all students. Computer Science is a popular subject at IGCSE and coding and computational thinking are embedded more thoroughly into our curriculum. The Computing Department's aim is not only to equip students for today’s society, but also for the future, and to teach in such a way that celebrates innovative ideas, stimulates forward-thinking, and exposes students to the enormous potential of computers and their applications in related fields such as electronics and engineering.
