Role Description
The IT Project Manager will oversee the end-to-end management and implementation of key IT projects for the NIA that interfaces with insurance companies, government agencies at various levels in Nigeria. This role demands strong managerial skill, a strategic approach to customer relationships, and technical expertise in API integration. The ideal candidate will focus on profitability, ensuring the project achieves its full value proposition and delivers optimal customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme Leadership: Drive the successful execution of the NIA IT project, managing multiple stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams, to achieve project milestones.
- Profitability Focus: Strategize and implement cost optimization and revenue-generating initiatives to ensure the project is profitable, balancing resources with project value.
- API Integration and Scalability: Oversee the seamless integration and scaling of APIs across insurance platforms, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong customer relationships, focusing on client satisfaction and long-term engagement.
- Vendor Management: Manage vendor contracts and SLAs, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget, negotiating terms as necessary to optimize project outcomes.
- Data-Driven Project Oversight: Use data insights to monitor project performance, including profitability, customer satisfaction, and adherence to timelines, and adjust strategies to enhance results.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project elements adhere to industry regulations and standards, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of compliance requirements in the insurance sector.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior management and other departments within the NIA to align the project with organizational goals and broader strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years in program and project management, with a focus on business analysis, IT implementation, and customer engagement in the insurance or financial sector.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with API integrations, project management tools, and data analytics platforms.
- Customer Management: Demonstrated expertise in building and managing key customer relationships to enhance satisfaction and project alignment with customer needs.
Preferred Certification:
- CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA – to demonstrate advanced business analysis expertise.
- Information Technology and Project Management skills (PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 – for strong project management skills.
- Experience in Program Management
- Proficiency in Project Planning
- Strong Stakeholder Management abilities
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Relevant certifications in Project Management or IT
- Knowledge of the insurance industry is a plus
