Internal Auditor

Our Client is a full-Service Travel Management Company with headquarters in Dubai and offices in Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Abuja currently seeking to fill this position:

Purpose of the role

The Internal Auditor will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity, compliance, and efficiency of the company’s financial and operational processes. This includes conducting audits across the business units, identifying risks, recommending improvements, and ensuring adherence to both internal procedures and industry standards. The role is crucial for fostering accountability and aligning the company's diverse business units with established regulatory and financial frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial & Operational Audit

• Examine and evaluate the accuracy of financial records, ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential financial, operational, and compliance risks within all business units.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and processes related to financial reporting, asset management, and operational efficiency.

2. Compliance & Risk Management

• Identify areas of vulnerability across the company’s operations.
• Ensure that all departments are following regulatory guidelines and company policies, with a particular focus on safeguarding assets and reducing risk exposure.
• Prepare compliance reports and communicate findings to management with clear, actionable recommendations.

3. Process Improvement & Cost Optimization

• Identify financial and operational areas for cost reduction and revenue improvement.
• Recommend and implement strategies for enhanced profitability and operational efficiency within each department.
• Collaborate with department heads to improve accounting, record-keeping, and reporting practices.

4. Productivity & Staff Assessment

• Assess the productivity and efficiency of internal teams across business units, proposing improvements to enhance performance and accountability.
• Work with department leads to align practices with industry best standards, focusing on consistency and quality in execution.

5. Reporting & Presentation

• Document audit findings in comprehensive reports, supported by data and analysis.
• Present audit results, recommendations, and risk assessments to senior management and other stakeholders.
• Maintain organized audit documentation and keep records up to date for regulatory and internal review.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in auditing, preferably in diverse sectors such as construction, marine, travels, agriculture and real estate.
• Related professional certification will be an advantage
