Position Overview:
Housing TV Africa is seeking a passionate and driven Investigative TV Reporter with a keen interest in housing, infrastructure, and urban development. The ideal candidate will have a knack for uncovering stories, bringing them to life on screen, and engaging viewers through compelling investigative journalism. As part of our onsite team in Abuja, you’ll work closely with editors and producers to produce high-quality reports that highlight critical housing and urban development issues across Nigeria and Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research and investigations on housing, real estate, and urban development issues.
- Develop compelling storylines and deliver detailed, fact-checked reports for broadcast.
- Conduct interviews with experts, public officials, community leaders, and affected residents.
- Collaborate with camera crew and producers to create visually engaging news segments.
- Prepare scripts, reports, and features that meet Housing TV Africa’s editorial standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with sources to gain exclusive insights into the housing sector.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication, Urban Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in investigative journalism, preferably in television reporting.
- Strong understanding of Nigeria’s housing, urban development, and infrastructure issues.
- Exceptional storytelling skills and ability to produce accurate, balanced reports.
- Proficiency in on-camera reporting, interviewing, and news production.
- Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
