Responsibilities
Grant Proposal Writing:
- Research, draft, and submit compelling grant proposals and applications.
- Tailor grant requests to align with the specific interests and guidelines of the funding organizations.
- Develop and maintain a grant proposal calendar to ensure timely submissions.
Research and Identification:
- Identify potential funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other grant-making bodies.

- Maintain an updated database of potential funding sources and deadlines.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with department heads and program managers to gather information on organizational needs, programs, and budgets.
- Work with finance and program teams to prepare budgets and financial information to accompany grant proposals.
- Serve as the primary contact for funders, ensuring that all communication is clear and timely.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare grant reports, evaluations, and updates required by funders, ensuring compliance with grant agreements.
- Maintain records of past proposals, funding outcomes, and communications with funders.
- Track the progress of submitted applications and manage post-award activities such as reporting.
Compliance and Monitoring:
- Ensure all submitted proposals meet the specific requirements and criteria of funders.
- Monitor grant compliance and ensure that the organization meets all deliverables, timelines, and reporting obligations for awarded grants.
Relationship Building:
- Build and maintain relationships with current and potential funders.
- Attend meetings, workshops, and conferences related to grant funding, where applicable.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or related areas.
- Proven success in writing grant proposals and securing funding.
Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner.
- Familiarity with the grant-making landscape, particularly in the nonprofit or industry-specific sector.
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting in the context of grant applications is a plus.
