A leading pan-african investment and asset management company is currently looking to hire an *Investment Research Analyst*.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP: Head, Investment Research and Management
LOCATION: Lagos
SUMMARY: The ideal candidate will conduct a detailed analysis of financial instruments and markets to support portfolio management decisions. You will specialize in evaluating securities, conducting fundamental analysis (financial statement review, company valuation), and employing quantitative methods (statistical modelling, algorithmic trading strategies) to identify profitable investment opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This role involves generating investment insights, producing research reports, and collaborating with portfolio managers to optimize portfolio allocations and achieve client investment objectives.
• Carrying out independent research by analysing financial information of
assigned companies including macro and industry research.
• Preparation of research reports/presentations summarizing findings from
independent research.
• Develop financial models and projections to support investment decision-making.
• Monitor market news and developments relaying relevant information to
the investment team.
• Prepare and participate in weekly investment research
meetings.
• Attend industry conferences and develop a professional
network across various sectors.
• Carry out other duties that are assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS/BACKGROUND:
• Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a
related field with a strong academic record.
• Minimum of 3-4 years of full-time work experience in investment research
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
• Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create client-ready investment-related PowerPoint presentations.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment.
