Job Summary
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, tender documents, and managing project costs throughout the lifecycle. You will be expected to work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure financial control and compliance with contracts.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction and manufacturing projects, ensuring all costs are accounted for and aligned with project requirements.
- Tendering & Procurement: Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including bills of quantities and contracts. Evaluate subcontractor quotations and assist with procurement processes.
- Cost Control & Management: Monitor project costs, track expenditures, and report on any cost variances. Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements.
- Contract Management: Review and analyze contract terms, conditions, and variations. Assist in managing contract negotiations and resolve disputes related to costs or claims.
- Risk Management: Identify potential cost risks early and develop strategies to mitigate these risks, ensuring project financials are maintained.
- Project Reporting: Provide regular updates to management on the financial status of ongoing projects. Prepare financial reports, including cost reports and forecasts.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies in all financial transactions and documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that cost-related issues are promptly addressed and resolved.
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of professional experience in quantity surveying, specifically within the construction, mining, or manufacturing sectors.
- Familiarity with industry-standard cost management software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, CostX, Buildsoft).
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost estimation methods.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to construction and mining projects.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong negotiation skills with both internal and external stakeholders
