Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Software Developer to be part of a team responsible for creating and delivering outstanding software experiences to clients in an Abuja based Firm. He/She must be able to work with equal proficiency as part of a group and autonomously on a variety of dynamic projects with changing priorities; Develop, test and deploy new applications and services; troubleshoot and maintain existing systems in order to keep code synced, current and accessible using source control.

Expected Competencies

• Applicant must be a holder of a good degree in computer science or its equivalent, on Nation Youth Service or just concluded the NYSC.
• Must have basic knowledge/experience in website design, hosting, maintenance and updating, management of database, programming, building complex commercial, enterprise PHP and MySQL web applications amongst others.
• A motivation for personal practice: test-driven development.
• A love for simple, clear, bullet proof-code and elegant solutions.
• An obsession with eliminating bad code; a strong need to re-factor badly written code before inserting personalised lines.
• Proven track record with PHP 7.2; CODEIGNITER 3 and above; working with Restful APIs.
• Experience with properly indexing tables, optimising queries across multiple large tables and writing complicated queries (MySQL)
• Resides in Abuja
• Good communication skills and presentation skills
• Good judgment to juggle between quick-fixes and long-term solutions.
• Love for coding and technology, desire to learn new technologies.
