Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, protocols, and safety guidelines.
- Manage laboratory personnel, fostering a positive, motivated team environment and facilitating ongoing training and development.
- Ensure all testing and procedures are carried out accurately, efficiently, and in line with quality assurance measures.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols to guarantee a safe working environment for all staff.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, coordinating maintenance schedules to prevent downtime.
- Develop, implement, and monitor budgets, reporting on resource allocation and cost-effectiveness as well develop a viable business proposition for the laboratory growth.
- Liaise with medical professionals, researchers, and external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and information sharing.
- Ensure meticulous documentation of processes, procedures, and test results, supporting audit readiness.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Medical Laboratory Practitioner License
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory management role within a healthcare setting.
- Proven knowledge of laboratory practices, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively and promote a collaborative working environment.
- Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other relevant software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication skills to interact effectively with various departments and external parties.
