Job Summary
The Land Surveyor will be a key member of our team, responsible for leading and executing a wide range of land surveying projects within Lagos and potentially other parts of Nigeria.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage and oversee all phases of land surveying projects, from initial planning and reconnaissance to final data processing and report generation.
- Liaise with clients, government, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and approvals are obtained.
- Conduct various types of surveys, including but not limited to:
- Topographic surveys
- Cadastral surveys (boundary surveys, title surveys)
- Engineering surveys (control surveys, construction stakeout)
- As-built survey
- Hydrographic surveys (if applicable)
- Utilize a wide range of surveying equipment and technologies, including total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, levels, and drones.
- Perform precise measurements and data collection in accordance with established standards and best practices.
- Process survey data using relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) to generate accurate maps, plans, and reports.
- Prepare and review survey plans, legal descriptions, and other related documentation for accuracy and compliance with Nigerian land laws
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Nigerian land laws, survey regulations, and procedures at both federal and state levels (specifically Lagos State).
- Ensure all surveying activities are conducted in strict adherence to relevant legislation and professional standards.
- Prepare and submit survey plans and documents for official lodgment and approvals.
- Stay updated on changes in land laws and regulations and advise the team accordingly.
- Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and proper use of surveying equipment.
- Assist in the procurement of new surveying equipment and software as needed.
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures during fieldwork and office work.
- Conduct site-specific risk assessments before commencing survey activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Land Surveying or Geomatics Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive work experience in land surveying.
- Must be a registered Land Surveyor with the Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON).
- Proven expertise in conducting various types of land surveys using modern surveying equipment and techniques.
- Strong proficiency in processing survey data using relevant surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Leica Geo Office).
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian land laws, survey regulations, and procedures, particularly within Lagos State.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Additional Skills:
- Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., Nigerian Institution of Surveyors - NIS).
- Experience using drone surveying technology and processing software.
- Experience with GIS software and applications.
