Job Summary

The Legal and Regulatory Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements across the organization. This includes staying up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations, providing legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders, and ensuring that the company operates within the prescribed legal framework.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Provide legal advice and support to internal teams on various legal and regulatory matters.

Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements.

Handle legal and regulatory issues, including investigations and disputes.

Assist in developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.

Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company's operations.

Coordinate with external legal counsel, as needed.

Conduct legal research and analysis on specific issues as required.

Requirements

Academic / Professional Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB, BL) from a recognized institution.

Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association.

Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Skills and Competencies

Strong knowledge of Nigerian laws and regulations.

Excellent legal research and analytical skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks with deadlines.

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
