Legal Manager

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice on Nigerian law, regulations, and industry standards.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Manage disputes, litigation, and arbitration.
• Conduct legal research and provide opinions on various legal issues.
• Collaborate with external counsel on complex legal matters including litigation.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on legal matters where and as required.
• Manage the organization's intellectual property portfolio.
• Participate in business meetings and provide legal input on strategic decisions.
• Provide Secretarial services to the Board and sit in as a legal representative on the Board’s Committees.
• Liaise with appropriate regulatory authorities and government agencies on behalf of the organization.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B) from a reputable Nigerian or international university.
• BL (Barrister at Law) from the Nigerian Law School.
• Minimum 6-8 years post-qualification experience as a lawyer, (Either in a law firm or in-house legal teams).
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian laws, regulations, and industry standards especially in Corporate/Commercial law and in the media and entertainment sector.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
