Legal Officer

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice and guidance to the company on a wide range of issues, including real estate transactions, property law, contract negotiations, and dispute resolution.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the company's interests.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian legislation, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards.
• Conduct thorough legal research and stay updated on changes in legislation, particularly related to real estate and property law.
• Manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and ensuring compliance with legal obligations.
• Liaise with external legal counsel when necessary to handle more complex legal matters.
• Prepare and submit regulatory filings and ensure proper licensing and permits are in place.
• Assist in property acquisitions, leases, and sales transactions, ensuring all legal requirements are met.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB)
• 2-3 years of proven experience as a Legal Officer or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian legislation, regulatory frameworks, and compliance standards
• Experience in contract drafting, review, and negotiation.
• Strong understanding of property laws and real estate transactions.
• Excellent research and legal writing skills.
• Ability to provide risk assessment and legal advice to ensure compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
