Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Manage attorneys' calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments with clients and other stakeholders
- Type, format, and proofread legal documents including contracts, briefs, and correspondence
- Handle incoming calls and emails, routing them appropriately and responding to basic inquiries
- Maintain an organized filing system for both physical and digital documents
- Assist in the preparation of court documents and ensure timely filing
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials
- Manage office supplies and maintain office equipment
- Process incoming and outgoing mail and legal documents
- Support case research and document retrieval as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a legal secretary or similar role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with Nigerian legal systems and court procedures
- Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Professional certification in legal secretarial studies is an advantage
