Logistic Officer

Responsibilities:

Logistics Planning and Coordination:

• Plan and coordinate the movement of goods and materials between suppliers, warehouses, and customers.
• Organize shipments and ensure timely delivery of products in accordance with company policies.
• Collaborate with suppliers, transporters, and warehouses to ensure efficient transportation solutions.

Inventory Management:

• Monitor inventory levels and manage stock control systems to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
• Ensure accurate records are maintained for all incoming and outgoing goods.
• Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and records.

Transportation and Distribution Management:

• Oversee the transportation of goods, including selecting the most appropriate modes of transport, managing transportation providers, and ensuring compliance with delivery schedules.
• Track shipments and resolve delivery delays or issues to maintain customer satisfaction.
• Ensure that transportation is carried out in a safe and efficient manner while minimizing costs.

Vendor and Supplier Management:

• Build and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and suppliers.
• Negotiate shipping rates, contracts, and service agreements to ensure cost- effective and timely services.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms and service standards.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Ensure all logistics operations comply with relevant regulations, including customs, safety, and transportation laws.
• Prepare shipping documentation, such as bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork.
• Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including transport costs, inventory, and delivery times.

Cost Control and Budgeting:

• Monitor and control logistics costs, working to identify areas where cost savings can be made.
• Assist in preparing budgets for logistics operations and ensure efficient use of resources to achieve cost-effective results.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of proven experience as a Logistics Officer or in a similar role within logistics and supply chain operations.
• Knowledge of logistics software, inventory management systems, and warehouse management practices.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues quickly.
